Almost all of these songs have been included on some kind of monthly mix of mine, but I decided to make a playlist of songs that remind me of certain moments during my time in London and below are the reasons why I picked each song to be part of this month's playlist.
Listen to the playlist ---> HERE.
Track listing:
1. Georgia by Lydia
About two weeks into my time in London, I went on a date with this Scottish guy called Callum and after spending over eight hours running around central London (times that included walking along the Thames, running into a sports pub when it started pouring down rain and getting food in Chinatown), we made out at the Holland Park tube station and I listened to this song while I made the ten minute trek home. We saw each other a few more times after that, but then I never saw him again.
2. Hourglass by Catfish and the Bottlemen
The first gig I went to in London was Catfish and the Bottlemen, one of my favorite bands. I went by myself (I bought a ticket for this show before I even got my plane ticket) and completely fell in love with the live music scene of the city and every apart of it. Everyone was pissed by the time they played this song, but with people on each other's shoulders and embracing everyone around, the crowd sang louder than anything I have experienced in my entire life. After the show, I ended up meeting up with my friend Jimmy in Camden and got way too drunk for my own good. A girl who worked for Costco Wholesale and her boyfriend from New Zealand I met two hours prior got me into a black cab and home safely.

3. Love Me by The 1975
I first listened to this song as it premiered on BBC Radio 1 with Annie Mac while sitting on the fucking bunk bed I was forced to live in my first semester. I fell in love with the band again after hearing this song and it became a track I started my mornings with for the coming months. I also got the chance to see them just as their album came out and it was an incredible performance.

4. Love Me or Leave Me by Little Mix
Get Weird came out while I was in London and this is a song I listened to all of the time. I vividly remember riding down Oxford Street on the 390 bus heading back home to Notting Hill and listening to this song while the entire area was lit up and decorated for the holidays. This song also reminds me of the album release party I was able to go to with my friend Elle and I got the chance to meet the girls again.

5. Numbers by Daughter
I saw Daughter, one of my favorite bands, for the first time while in London. I went by myself and bought my ticket two hours before the show started. They played at a church in Hackney and a group of people quickly befriended me at the gig because they knew I was by myself. I never saw any of them after that, but I will never forget them. The crowd that night was so respectful and quiet which really made the performance something special.

6. Intrapersonal by Turnover
I slowly started getting back into interviewing and photographing shows during my year in England and Citizen was the first band I interviewed over there before their show at The Dome in Kentish Town. I had already heard Citizen's music before, but at the show, I discovered Turnover and they have quickly become one of my favorite bands. I listened to their album Peripheral Vision religiously from that point on and the show also reminded me that I should also look up the bands before I go and cover a show!
7. Peach by The Front Bottoms
I listened to this song on repeat in December when my sister was visiting for three weeks. I listened to it on the train to Paris, the bus to Brighton and on the tube while I was showing my sister around. This song holds far too many memories for me to count.
8. To Belong by Daughter
I vividly remember remember listening to this song on the tube every morning going to work in Harrow. The walk from the station to the office was about ten minutes and I would listen to this song while the wind threatened to blow me over into the wet grass. I also recall listening to this song when I would get off at Liverpool Street Station and walk to Shoreditch to check out my favorite shops and get an almond croissant at Beigel Bake. This whole album was played constantly by me.
9. Can You Feel My Heart by Bring Me The Horizon
I got weirdly into BMTH over the past year and ended up getting three tickets to their sold out show in Brixton. I dragged my friend Jimmy along who had never listened to them before and ended up inviting this guy called Rob who was incredibly excited that he was able to see them (apparently he has always been a big fan). The show was honestly one of the best I have been to and it was incredible to connect with so many people through music. It was probably one of my favorite nights I have ever spent in London.

10. Your Graduation by Modern Baseball
I saw Modern Baseball for the first time at the Electric Ballroom in Camden and took some of my favorite live photos that night. This song reminds me of that night and also all of the other gigs I went to at that venue. They were one of the only venues that had wifi and I found myself there quite a lot towards the end of my stay.

11. A Part of Me by Neck Deep
This song reminds me of when I saw them for the first time. I had heard of them, but never listened to them and became the biggest fan of theirs after seeing them. Their show was absolutely incredible and reminded me of how much I love pop punk music and the community. This song also reminds me of walking through Notting Hill towards Notting Hill Gate station to catch the tube in the springtime. I was always listening to this song.

12. St. Patrick by PVRIS
This is another band I became obsessed with while in London. I managed to get into their sold out show in Kentish Town and began listening to their album nonstop. I listened to this track a lot during my trip to Liverpool with my friend Emily. We took a shitty six hour coach ride to the city and I listened to this song to help drown on the annoying preteen that sat behind us.

13. The Honeymoon Suite by Creeper
I saw this band for the first time when I first saw Neck Deep in the early spring and ended up seeing them twice more because I was absolutely captivated by their live performance. Emily and I went to Southampton to see them with Neck Deep again and it was really special because it was their hometown show! The city itself was pretty boring and we ended up changing our bus tickets and leaving early, but it was one of my favorite gigs I have ever been to.
14. Ellipses by Basement
This is a random moment, but Emily and I ended up getting stuck in gnarly traffic coming home from Southampon and I remember being so tired and drained from the day that I leaned my head against the window and stared outside while this song played. I don't know why I remember that particular moment, but I do for whatever reason.
15. Apple Cider, I Don't Mind by Modern Baseball
I wrote one of my final papers on Modern Baseball and listened to this track on repeat while I wrote it in my favorite coffee shop called Timberyard in Covent Garden. They had the greatest coffee, the nicest staff and I spent a lot of my time there working on things and enjoying the company of everyone around me. I haven't been able to find a coffee shop quite like it in the states yet.
16. Drown by Bring Me The Horizon
When BMTH announced they would be playing at the Royal Albert Hall, I knew I couldn't miss it. I bought a ticket for one and went by myself because I wasn't going to let anyone stop me from going. I ended up sitting next to an army guy from Florida and a guy from Birmingham who spent the night flirting with me and trying to get me to go to a pub with him after the gig. It didn't happen. The crowd at this show is what made it incredibly special for me. I had the chance to see one of my favorite bands again at a world famous venue that I never thought I would get the chance to go to. It was a really special night for me and I am so happy I was able to be a part of it.

17. The Few That Remain by Set Your Goals
My last day in England was spent in Birmingham covering Slam Dunk Festival. I changed my plane ticket so I could attend and it was the best decision I have ever made. I met so many amazing people and overall, just had a great experience. I did an interview with Jordan Brown of Set Your Goals before their set and was glad I had the chance to talk to him. Set Your Goals was the first pop punk band I ever photographed and the first band I photographed at Warped Tour in 2011 so they hold a special place in my heart. They played this song while I was shooting them and honestly, I don't think I have ever been that happy photographing a band. The band looked so happy to be back performing live and the crowd was insane and so happy that the band was there. It was really special.
18. Heathrow by Catfish and the Bottlemen
It's really cliche, but this song literally came on shuffle as I was entering the Heathrow terminals to fly back to Seattle. I was exhausted and in the back of an Uber and incredibly sad that I was coming home. This song started to play and I almost had a meltdown in the back of the car because I wasn't ready to leave. It reminded me of all of the good times I had had this year.
Hope all is well.
Just love me:
