As I was putting on my makeup, however, I realized it would be a great time for me to share with you all some of my favorite things for this month (even though it just started). So I am going to talk about my favorite makeup, hair, skin and beauty products.
Skin:
Yes To : Grapefruit Correct & Repair Towelettes
I am a terrible person and probably don't wash my face as much as one should (this is probably why I am experiencing more breakouts than usual). I am always on the hunt for new makeup remover face wipes to use after a long day and I recently read about how good grapefruit can be great for your skin. I picked up this and have been obsessed ever since. The towelettes are large so you can fully take off your makeup without having to use multiples and they don't dry out! The grapefruit is a lovely smell and really leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. The citrus acid in them gets all of the makeup off while cleansing my skin - it's a win, win. I have used face wipes in the past that were way too harsh with chemicals and broke my skin out - these are gentle on all types of skin. Yes To has some amazing face products I cannot wait to try in the future.
Hair:
Tresemme's Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Spray
I have heard nothing, but amazing things about this line. I don't wave my hair as much as I used to, but the old heat protectant spray I was using really made my hair sticky and the spray didn't have the best smell in the world. I recently got turned on to these products after a friend suggested I used some type of Keratin product on my hair to help nourish it. So as I was browsing down the hair aisle in Target (my mecca), I came across this and decided to give it a try. I have a good track record with Tresemme's products and this one is amazing. Not only does it work to protect my hair when styling, but I use the spray to help detangle my crazy bedhead or smooth out my hair when it is getting too fluffy. It has a nice fragrance to it and really doesn't leave any unwanted residue in your hair. It always has an easy spray nozzle so you can spray the product evenly throughout your hair and is crazily affordable!
Makeup:
Stila's Stay All Day Foundation and Concealer
Shade I Use: 2 Fair
I spent about two months taking samples from Sephora to try and find the perfect foundation for myself. After a run with drugstore foundations took a toll on my skin, I was ready to invest in something with a little more quality. I probably tried five different foundations (YSL, Kat V Don, etc.), but this was the one I found myself coming back to. I was looking for a foundation with full coverage that didn't leave my skin feeling heavy. This Stile foundation is AMAZING. I only have to use a little bit for it to cover my whole face and hide those unwanted breakouts. It really leaves my skin feeling soft and has a nice finish to it and it hasn't broken me out! This also comes with a concealer in the lid that is incredible! I cannot rave about this enough! For anyone out there trying to find red and unwanted breakouts, this foundation is amazing. It cost around $40, but since I only have to use a little it with each use - I know it is going to last me a long time.
L'Oreal Paris' Lash Out Butterfly Mascara (in black)
My cousin recommended this mascara to me after a bunch of beauty bloggers began talking about it. I am open to using all different types of mascara since I normally use three or four at a time. The brush on this one is ridiculous! I couldn't get a clear photo of it, but Google always has images. haha. Anyway, the brush really allows for a curl to be created in your eyelashes and gives it a ton of volume. I am BIG on huge eyelashes and a load of mascara on my eyes (I like the messy look) and this mascara really does the trick. The brush keeps it from clumping and each coat really goes on my lashes evenly. For a drugstore brand, I recommend this for anyone looking for the perfect big lashes!
Anastasia's Clear Brow Gel
Yes, this is a shit photo. I really need to go to Sephora and buy the full tube of this. I bought a little brow kid during Black Friday because I was dying to give this gel a try. I have big, bushy eyebrows that get out of hand sometime. I was just using a clear gel to set my eyebrows, but it wasn't holding as well as I would have like it too. This stuff, however, is amazing. I only have to do one little swipe across each eyebrow after I fill them in and they are good to go for the day. The gel really holds them in place so I don't have to worry about them losing their shape or my makeup up there smearing. I cannot rave about this stuff enough. BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT.
Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain (in 025 Sweetheart Valentine)
My sister accidentally bought two of the same color so handed this one off to me. I was hesitant at first because I am not a huge lip stain person, but after one use, I am sold. As a lipstick girl who is always getting the color smeared by constant trips to Starbucks, this lip stain is perfect for me. The color is bright (perfect for lightening up my wardrobe) and it is the farthest thing from being sticky. I only have to apply it once (maybe once more for a touch up) and that is it for the day. I don't have to worry about it fading away throughout the day or smearing all over my face. I need to go and buy about five more of these in different shades - they are perfect!
Beauty:
One Direction's Our Moment Fragrance
Thank you Mama Dowd for the perfect Christmas gift. I was in the middle of trying to find a new fragrance for myself when I smelled this one and instantly fell in love. I know that everyone has this fragrance now, but I truly love it. Yes, it is one of your typical teeny bopper scents, but its light andsweet and just what I was looking for in a perfume. Also, the fact that the boys in 1D were a part of the process of making this is pretty cool too. I do, also, enjoy the bottle design - its cute and its girly. So for anyone that is looking for a flowery, girly scent that won't leave you smelling like a twelve year old - give this one a few sprays.
Hope you are doing well.
