Most Played Albums of 2014

These are the albums that were released in 2014 that I jammed the most throughout the year.

Sorry I'm Late
Cher Lloyd
Release Date: May 23rd, 2014
Most Played Songs: Sirens and Killin' It
I was never too fond of Cher Lloyd until this album was released. It's fun, energetic and incredibly sassy. This is one of my go to albums to listen to when I am driving in my car and it was a big hit for me in the summer when I was stuck in traffic after work. I can't help but feel a sense of empowerment when I listen to her music which is probably why I was so drawn to this new album. She has a good mix of radio worthy pop songs and ballads - this album showed more artistic depth for Cher and was a definite step up from her first album.

Nick Jonas
Nick Jonas
Release Date: November 10th, 2014
Most Played Songs: Jealous and Santa Barbara
I will basically love Nick Jonas forever. When I heard he was releasing a solo album, I knew it was going to be incredible. He knows exactly where he wants to go with his music and this album was nothing short of amazing. Each song was beautiful composed and written and his new mature R&B influenced sound has been something I have been waiting for for a long time. Everyone should take a moment to listen to it because you won't be disappointed.

5 Seconds of Summer
5 Seconds of Summer
Release Date: July 22nd, 2014
Most Played Songs: Amnesia and Long Way Home
I tried so hard to not like them, I really did. This quickly became my go to summer album because of it's upbeat pop-rock tunes and well, I do love the vocal stylings of Luke Hemmings. 5SOS's basically the mainstream music I used to listen to at Warped Tour every year and I love every second of it.

Four
One Direction
Release Date: November 17th, 2014
Most Played Songs: Fireproof and Stockholm Syndrome
It's shocking that this made the list, isn't it? Anything by 1D immediately shoots up to my most played section. This album was there most mature sound yet and I couldn't stop listening to this on my way to work or class this fall. The batch of songs are well written and incredibly catchy, what's not to love?

Listen
The Kooks
Release Date: September 8th, 2014
Most Played Songs: Westside and It Was London
I wasn't too fond of this album until I caught The Kooks performing in Seattle just after this record was released and I instantly fell in love with it. I am all about the psychedelic British rock sound they went for on this album - it's fun, catchy and so The Kooks. As one of my favorite bands, I definitely wasn't disappointed with this record.

Absent Sounds
From Indian Lakes
Release Date: October 4th, 2014
Most Played Songs: Awful Things and Breathe, Desperately
What a perfect album this is. The lyrics throughout this album penetrated my soul and never escaped again. I listen to at least one or two songs from this album every day and I strongly encourage everyone to check out From Indian Lakes because they are incredible. This band holds so much talent when it comes to their music, I really can't get enough of it.

X
Ed Sheeran
Release Date: June 20th, 2014
Most Played Songs: Runaway and Thinking Out Loud
I have been listening to this album daily since it was released. Tracks are on all of my playlists and Ed Sheeran stole my heart this year. He is a true artist and I am so excited to see how popular he has gotten over the years. His music is beautifully crafted and he sure hasn't lost his knack over the years for what he loves to create in the studio and perform onstage. I saw his show this past summer and was in completely awe on how someone was able to put on such a magnificent show SOLO.

1989
Taylor Swift
Release Date: October 27th, 2014
Most Played Songs: I Know Places and Wildest Dreams
Mother of god this album. I am actually listening to it right now as I type this. This is easily her best album yet and I know this album will be playing through my speakers for the next year. As always, her lyrics are what stick out the most. Where she lacks in singing ability, she makes up in her writing and concepts. She is the artist of a generation and this album will go down in history (literally) for how much success it has had this year.

Happy New Year everyone!

Hope all is well.
Just love me:
