The Northwest Dweeb Takes London: Photographing Lights

I sat down this week with one of my favorite artists, Lights. She is honestly one of the kindest and down to earth women in the business and is insanely talented.

I've interviewed her twice before - once in 2011 and again in 2012 and she was incredible every time.

2011 at the El Corazon in Seattle

2012 at the Bumbershoot Music Festival with her husband, Beau Bokan from blessthefall. The interview with her quickly turned into a joint interview with Beau.

She played in London this week at the Hoxton Bar & Kitchen and I shot the show from the crowd. Shooting from the crowd is always challenging for me especially because I don't want to get in the way of fans that are trying to watch the show.

The photos from the show are honestly some of my favorite and I am so glad I had the chance to meet her again and see her perform new songs off her new album Little Machines.

Lights liked my photos enough to share them on her social media pages which had me buzzing!

These photos and my experience with Lights has just made me want to take my photography more seriously and to the next level. London has been offering me some great opportunities in the music scene and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Hope all is well.
Just love me:
