The Northwest Dweeb Takes The UK: Liverpool and Manchester

I went on a long weekend with my friend Emily to both Liverpool and Manchester. Liverpool is a city I have always wanted to visit while Manchester ended up being a very last minute adventure.

It was pretty rainy on the Friday and Saturday we were there, but it is still such a beautiful city. Everyone we encountered was super nice and lovely and Liverpool accents are officially one of my favorite things.

Of course, being in Liverpool, we had to check out the Beatles Story museum. It was an amazing museum and I wish my dad had been with me because I know he would have loved it. I bought him too much stuff that I know he will love.

I looked like a straight tourist in my dad hat.

Of course, had to get all of the cheesy tourist photos out.

In case you were unaware, I am a massive freak about the Titanic and am completely fascinated about it. Titanic was partly built and was docked in Liverpool at one point so there was a big part of the Museum of Liverpool dedicated to the history. I, of course, completely geeked out. I was so in my element.

Super cheesy moment, but I was very excited to actually walk along Abbey Road. I grew up on the Beatles thanks to my dad and this song had a big impact on me and is also the name of the most influential fictional character in my favorite movie of all time. I was pretty stoked.

Our trip to Manchester was very last minute and instead of rebooking our Airbnb and canceling our bus ticket to stay an extra day in Liverpool and then go to Manchester, Emily and I took a five hour bus ride home to London where we stayed for six hours before getting back on a four hour bus ride to Manchester.

The trip to Manchester was lovely, but I was exhausted the entire day. No triple shot latte was going to save me from the lack of sleep. Also, the trip to Manchester was far more work than play. I ended up shooting the cover for the upcoming digital issue with Stitched Sound and also did an interview with a band called Boston Manor.

Booked a last minute interview and shoot with Boston Manor and am so glad I got the chance to meet them. They are an incredible group of guys and have great music for anyone that is a fan of pop punk.

Getting ten guys in one room to do a joint interview and shoot is a lot harder than it sounds, but it also made for the most fun shoot and interview I have ever done. The guys in Seaway and Knuckle Puck are so cool and incredibly easy to work with and chat to.

While I was exhausted and the shoots and interviews took a lot of prep and work, I am extremely proud of the work I did while in Manchester and can't wait to share the photos with everyone in the next few days!

Hope all is well.
Just love me:
