Alison Mosshart is the singer of The Kills and The Dead Weather and has been of my style inspirations for the past few months. She is grungy and fun but is also able to look sophisticated (even in ripped up jeans).
Her wardrobe and mine are very similar and the basic items that are a part of her looks are very easy to recreate for yourself!
I live for Alison's event and runway show looks. Always paired with a good boot, she is known for her statement jackets and simple pant. Not to mention her crazy hair that I am obsessed with! It's big, it's messy, it's grungy and I love all of it. All of these looks are still true to her style, but the boots and jacket allow for the outfits to look tailored and well put together.
I cannot say it enough how long a simple outfit can go! For Alison, she keeps it uncomplicated with solid colored pants and graphic tees (my go to clothing item). But she always adds some type of element to each outfit to really boost the look. Whether its a patterned jacket, a blazer, a hat or chunky jewelry - Alison's wardrobe is equipped with the perfect go-to rock looks.
To get Alison's look:
1) Grab your favorite pair of black jeans.
2) Throw on your favorite worn-in graphic tee.
3) Slide on a pair of black boots.
4) To top off of the look, throw on a good statement shirt or jacket that gives the outfit a burst of color, pattern or texture.
4) And for shits, spray some sea salt spray in your hair and give it a tousle or two.
