I have been a fan of Cher Lloyd for quite some time (it took some warming up). I rather enjoy her music and 'no fucks' attitude, but whenever I saw her style, I instantly cringed (and not for any good reason).
Her style was always kind of all over the place and I never really knew how to take it. Back in the 2010-2012 years, she often wore a lot of fabrics that clashed together and never wore anything that showed off her great figure. It just...well, wasn't my style I guess.
Cher was going through her first album cycle and was just off the X-Factor and she was trying to fit into this crazy persona which meant crazy clothes and a style that wasn't really there. Sometimes, she was layering on different types of fabrics and pieces that just did not go together and frankly, had no business being in the outfit to begin with.
These past few months (or year) however, her style really turned around and I feel like as she grew older, her style and music have really matured.
I adored her red carpet and event style this past year. It was classy and pretty well tailored, but still had that wild edge that Cher has always possessed. Each look really fit for the event she was attending and went along with her maturity as a person and artist. (I am slight obsessed with those pants on the right).
Keep in mind that Cher is about twenty and it was time for her to ditch the oversized and very busy harlem pants for something new!
Her 'casual' outfits have been toned down as well. As I have said time and time again, I am all about simplicity and I love the monochromatic and neutral tones Cher has been wearing lately. Her accessories and shoe choice really had that extra edge to each look and well, so do her dozens of tattoos!
Cher has give her hair a little bit of a break. She used to have crazy and huge hair and has had so many different colors! I think it is great that she was experimenting and having fun with her hair (because I always do this), but I think a natural brown looks so great with her complexion.
This year, Cher has gone for a nice and natural looking ombre and what appears to be close to her natural brown color. Both of these hairstyles really compliment her complexion and give her skin a wonderful glow! Her hair also looks super healthy!
And let's not forget how adorable Cher and her husband Craig are!
I picked Cher as my Woman Crush Wednesday because I have been jamming her brand new album Sorry I'm Late. It's fun, it's catchy and it's totally Cher. She wrote loads more on this second record than her debut release and it really shows. More of the songs have a more mature sound and lyrical meaning, but there are still those few fun songs that are perfect for the summer!
Don't know too much about Cher or have never heard of her? Watch her short documentary on her latest album release! The four part series can be watched on her YouTube channel ---> HERE.
Hope all is well.
Just love me:
