Since moving to London, I was only able to pack the amount of makeup that would fit in my makeup bag (excluding lipsticks). So I thought I would show you guys the products I have been using basically everyday and a short review on each item.
This is my current makeup bag (yes, I know it's dirty). I picked this up at Nordstrom Rack and it's the brand Trina. I picked it out because it has two pockets, one that holds makeup brushes and the other that holds all of the makeup product. I really like bags such as this because it keeps the brushes from getting smashed.
From left to right:
angled brush (brand unknown): I use this to apply my eyebrow product. I picked it up at Ulta and have no idea what brand it is but it's angled which allows for me to apply the product easily.
Real Techniques Shading Brush: I use this brush to apply my eyeshadow. Fun stuff.
Sonia Kashuk Foundation Brush: This is for my liquid foundation and it really allows me to blend in and make sure the product sinks into my skin evenly. I may retire this brush in a bit and try a beauty blender though.
e.l.f Studio Stipple Brush: This is used to apply my liquid highlighter. The ends are perfect for an easy application onto my cheekbones and face.
Real Techniques Face Brush: This is used to apply my face powders. It's big and fluffy so it allows for a quick and easy application.
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush: This brush is only used when I apply a powder highlighter which isn't often anymore.
Revlon Photoready BB Cream in 010 Light Pale: I started using this in the summer and use it now when I don't want the hassle of applying foundation. It gives a little coverage and even has SPF. At the end of the day though, my face does get a little greasy from the product, but overall, it does what every BB cream should do.
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in 091 Light Ivory: This is one of my favorite foundations ever. It is a really good color match for me and you can build it up if you want more coverage. It is definitely a medium to full coverage foundation. I only need the littlest bit to get a medium coverage look on my face. It lasts ALL DAY (even without a primer) and it doesn't feel cakey or heavy on my skin.
Too Faced Amazing Face Powder Foundation in Vanilla Creme: I normally top off my foundation with the tiniest bit of this product to help finish off the foundation job. Since it's a powder, you can build up the coverage and it's pretty finely milled so it feel really light on the skin.
NYX Dark Circle Concealer Correcteur in Fair: This is one of my new favorite products. It really hides my under eye circles which are always out of control. It's thick, but has a smooth consistency and glides onto the skin really well.
NYX Hi Definition Photo Concealer Wand in Fair: This is a really good coverage concealer that I use on all of my spots, under my eyes and on any discoloration I have on my skin. It doesn't crease and lasts most of the day without needed touch ups.
Too Faced Full Bloom Cheek and Lip Tint in Prim & Poppy: This is the only blush I packed with me. When used lightly, it gives a natural pink color to my cheeks and since it's a cream, I get a really easy application with it when I just use my finger. It lasts fifty times longer than any powder blush does.
Physician's Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls in Translucent Pearl: This is only used on days when I don't want a really intense highlight. It's not nearly as good as a liquid highlighter, but it can be built up to give a really nice glow to my nose and cheekbones. On my lighter makeup days, I reach for this.
NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator in Sunbeam: This is my favorite product in my makeup bag. It has a pink tint to it which looks really nice with my skin tone as it would with many others. A little goes a long way so on days where I want a dramatic highlight, I can layer this on. It has a shimmer without being glittery which is what I am always looking for in a highlight. This product really brings my whole makeup look together.
Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette: The pigmentation of these shadows are great considering it's from the drugstore. Nudes and browns look the best with my eye color and there is a shade that suits every makeup look I do. They are easy to blend and apply onto my eyelids and I can go for a natural or a dramatic eye look with this palette. I am really glad I picked it up.
Anastasia Clear Brow Gel: This is one of the only brow gels I have used that actually keep my brows in place all day. The tube lasts FOREVER so you really get your money's worth.
NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Brunette: I use the brush on the end since I finished the actual product and started using a pomade instead. The brush is great for combining out excess product and shaping my brows before I start to apply the product.
NYX Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade in Brunette: I don't know how I did my brows before this product. The color match to my eyebrows is pretty good even though I wish it was a touch darker and the color below this one in the line is too dark. It has a smooth application and allows me to shape and fill my brows quickly since I am almost always rushing to do my makeup these days. The product doesn't move during the day and I never have to worry about it coming off or smearing.
NYX The Skinny Mascara in Black: I use this to prime my upper lashes and coat my lower lashes. It has a super small brush so I can really define my lower lashes without getting product all over the place. It is perfect for people that have short lower lashes like me.
Revlon Lash Potion Mascara in Blackest Black: I bought this on a whim and it has become one of my favorite mascaras. It has a massive brush so you get really big and dramatic fanned lashes which is what I am always looking for. The product does flake a little bit, but if you watch how many coats you put on, it really does give a dramatic look.
L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara: This is the blackest mascara I have ever used and it is one of my favorites. It has a formula that takes three or four uses because you started to see good results, it gets a little clumpy at first. The brush isn't too big and isn't too small so you have good control when you apply.
L'Oreal Paris The Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner in Black: This is the only eyeliner I use anymore. It has a great tip so you have control over the product and is a very crisp black. I am able to do my eyeliner the fastest I have ever been able to with this product.
Hope all is well.
Just love me:
