This post is a little late, but necessary because I was incredibly impressed (and devastated) by the fashion that was seen on this years' BAFTA red carpet
Top looks of the night:
4. Stacey Martin in Louis Vuitton
This has a very classic and vintage feel to it which instantly caught my attention. The minimal makeup and soft, pulled back hair allows for the detailing on this dress to really shine. The scalloped fabric under the sheer beading gives a soft, feminine touch that is complimented nicely with the simple black skirt.
3. Dianna Agron in Lanvin
This color is beautiful. Whenever Dianna wears anything in red, I instantly fall in love. The silhouette of the top adds a little twist to the classic sweetheart neckline we are all used to seeing. The pulled back hair and subtle smokey eye allows for the red of the dress to really pop with the gold accessories accenting the bold color.
2. Keira Knightley in Giambattista Valli
She's pregnant and absolutely glowing. This gown is very girly and fun and I adore it. As one of my favorite designers, I love seeing some of my favorite red carpet celebrities wear Giambattista Valli. I love the contrast between the light and dark flowers, as well as the cropped skirt. It is tailored perfectly to Keira and fits her wonderfully. The soft waves of her hair add a casual style element that really goes with the fun, bright gown.
1. Lea Seydoux in Prada
This dress reminds me so much of one of my favorite Vera Wang gowns that was worn by Michelle Williams in 2006 (here). It fits Lea like a glove and canary yellow is my all time favorite color. The dramatic flow of the train and the cut outs balance each other out, the soft curls of her making her look classic and elegant. This is so perfect, I don't even need to analyze it!
Honorable mention:
Laura Haddock in Ashi Studio Couture
This dress is so light and so beautiful, she looks like a princess. I adore the pale color because your eyes can really focus on the design and overall structure of the gown that fits her wonderfully.
Rosamund Pike in Roland Mouret
This is just simple and classic which are two of my favorite things. I have consistently been loving Rosamund in black gowns and this is no exception. The makeup is minimal which allows for her natural beauty to shine through and I am still so obsessed with her bob!
Amy Adams in Stella McCartney
I normally don't care too much for white gowns but the studded details on this gown are phenomenal. It fits her wonderfully and the contrast between the bleach white color and the heavy studs works so well.
Worst dressed:
Natalie Dormer in Sophia Kah
Too. Much. Lace. The combination of colors on this dress makes me think I could find this on a rack in a department store. The dress fits her quite well, but the lace farbic and unnecessary lace gloves makes this whole look look cheap.
Felicity Jones in Dior Haute Couture
This pains me because Felicity is literally my favorite red carpet actress this season. I love the whole look except for the train of the dress. It drives me mad! I wish the silhouette of the skirt went straight down and didn't poof out. It just ruins the whole look for me. The color combination and the floral appliques are lovely, but the train is the worst.
Hope all is well.
Just love me:
