2013: A Year In Review

So I woke up this morning and found myself pondering this entire year and how fast it flew by. So I hav decided to make a random list of things that happened to me in 2013. These are not in a particular order.

1. Got Published
So me and Alternative Press Magazine were pretty buddy buddy this year. For some photographers, getting published is no big deal, but for me, it's pretty big. Getting my photo in a magazine was one of my main goals for 2013 and it happened in the month of March and then again this summer. Photography has been something I have loved for so long - there is nothing more rewarded then picking up a magazine and seeing your photo on the inside.

2.  Graduated From High School
Dad and Mom
I graduated this past June with a 3.7GPA and can say that I am pretty damn proud of myself for doing it.

3. Went To University
Dom
My roommate, Alexa
I got accepted to Seattle University and it has been one of my best decisions I have ever made. I am currently enrolled in their communications program and have already made so many friends and memories and its only been one quarter! I always knew I would be going to school in Seattle and couldn't have chosen a better school for me.

4. Met Paramore
Some people might think this one is really lame, but Paramore has been my favorite band for the past eight years and getting to finally meet them was a fucking dream. They were so nice and happy - ugh, take me back.

5. Photographed Some Cool Shows
Me photographing !!! at Bumbershoot this summer.
Interviewed Jordan and Cyrus from New Found Glory and photographed this set this past June. Some of the most down to earth and interesting guys I have ever had the chance to meet - their outlook on life definitely put a lot of things into perspective for me. "We do it for the kids".
My favorite photo of 2013 - The Story So Far this past Spring. They are still one my favorite bands to photograph and watch.
The Maine
The Vans Warped Tour - still one of my favorite tours to photograph. 2013 was my third year being a part of the tour.

6. Watched Death Cab For Cutie perform Transatlanticism in full at Bumbershoot
This was a small, but monumental moment for me. Death Cab's Transatlanticism is my favorite album of all time and is always what I turn to when I am feeling down. I will never be able to express how I felt when I watch them perform the entire thing live. It was easily one of the greatest moments of my life.

So those were basically my biggest moments in 2013. It wasn't the greatest year I have ever had, but it certainly was eventful. 2013 was the year I really matured and grew into my own person because I had to start taking on responsibility. I know live away from my family at school and work and am now fully responsible for myself. I can't call my mom and have her bring me something when I am sick and shit like that. It was also a year of confusion because I still have no idea what I want to do with my life. That, however, will be discussed more later on.

Tomorrow I will do a post about what my goals for the new year are.

Happy New Years everyone and stay safe out there.
