Sienna Miller in Valentino Couture
I was not a fan of this gown on the runway for some reason, but I think it is a great look on Sienna. It's a rather unconventional gown for the red carpet which is why I like it. The odd color scheme and the kit theme makes it fun and playful while the cut of the top keeps it sexy. It was the most "out of the box" look in comparison to other gowns she wore at Cannes.
Poppy Delevingne in Burberry
I was very back and forth with this dress because there are just so many embellishments, but the cut and color of it is really beautiful. I love the sheerness of the skirt so you can see the bodysuit she has on underneath. It's something you don't expect to happen, but it gives it the perfect element of surprise for the carpet.
Lupita Nyong'o in Gucci
LUPITA! She is one of my favorite red carpet stars and this gown looks phenomenal on her. When I first saw it, I was surprised it was a Gucci design but the color is truly beautiful. I love that the neckline isn't completely embellished in the flowers because it could very easily look like too much. The pleats and fabric of the dress makes it look light and fun and I LOVE the cape sleeves!
Julianne Moore in Armani Prive
For some reason, Julianne has blown me away with her red carpet fashion over the past year. I love this gown on her - it fits well and the contrast of black and grey keeps the gown fresh and shows off the detailing of the skirt far better than if it was black as well. The pop of emerald green jewels as an element of unexpected color that compliments her gorgeous red hair.
Daria Strokous in Luisa Beccaria
This is a gown I want to live in. Not only is it such a beautiful lavender color (my favorite color), but the skirt looks incredibly soft and it moved beautifully on the carpet. I love that the top is simple with a subtle sweetheart neckline that keeps the gown from looking too heavy or overdone.
Rooney Mara in Rochas
ROONEY. I have had the biggest girl crush on Rooney Mara for a few years and she is another one of my red carpet favorites. With her fair skin and dark hair, I love seeing her in white gowns which is a common sight for her on the carpet. This dress has an incredibly vintage vibe to it which is why I fell in love with it. The lace detailing of the skirt and train is my favorite part. She looks incredibly classic.
Cate Blanchett in Giles
This is the SECOND time someone has worn a Giles piece on the red carpet this season (here) and I have been obsessed with the collection this gown is from since it made its debut at fashion week (here). With traditional styling an images used in the fabric, this collection did a great job at mixing old with new. The tailoring and vision Giles Deacon had with this collection was ahead of its time and it truly is a collection worth looking at. Cate wears this piece incredibly well and you need to with that amount of print and detailing. Seeing a gown like this on the carpet made with pattern fabric that features images is very rare which is why I really enjoy it.
Sienna Miller in Gucci
Sienna has been on too many of my lists and I don't even care. She had my favorite Cannes fashion this year and this might top as my favorite dress. It's an incredibly classic pattern and idea, but the dusty pink color with the red bow and neck trim has me completely over the moon. I love the pop of turquoise with the clutch bag and the way the layering of the fabric panels moved on the carpet.
Hope all is well.
Just love me:
