2015 MTV Video Music Awards

Top Looks
5. Vanessa Hudgens in Naeem Khan
Vanessa has worn this designer before on the red carpet and it seems to be a match made in heaven. The classic boho styling of her hair and jewels allows the dress to fit in with her signature style while making her look incredibly elegant on the red carpet. The color of this dress is perfect with her skin tone and dark features, the floral detail and plunging neckline keeping the gown age appropriate for the 26 year old.
4. Helen Lasichanh and Pharrell Williams in unknown
Denim on denim is a trend that many people hate, but I completely adore. Pharrell and Helen have always keep it fun on the red carpets with their Mr. and Mrs. matching outfits and the 90s vibe from these looks makes me so incredibly happy. The washes of the denim paired together work well while the heavy boots add to the overall feel. And I am OBSESSED with Helen's little Chanel bag which Dakota Johnson had in her hands at this year's Met Gala. While I could live without the addition of the hats, these were definitely unique and fresh looks to last night's carpet.
3. Cara Delevingne in Saint Laurent
It should be no surprise that Cara made my list of best dressed. Saint Laurent and Delevingne is a match made in heaven and is something I will forever love. The dress is fun, flirty and was very appropriate for the VMA red carpet. Keeping it minimal with the strappy heels and big rings, the sparkle and star pattern of the dress was able to stay as the main focus of the look. As an incredibly simple look, Cara's tossed beach waves and light makeup allowed for her natural beauty to really shine through. As my #1 in all aspects of life, Cara could wear a paper sack and I would love it so there might be some bias in this one.
2. Taylor Swift in Ashish
I have a HUGE fan of Ashish and was very shocked (in a good way) when Taylor hit the carpet in this look. I am all for Taylor's latest crop top phase and this incredibly shiny, sparkly look gave the perfect mixture of casual and glam. The really intense cat eye and pulled back complimented her features and kept the look from appearing over styled. While the shoe choice is still being debated by me, seeing Taylor in a look like this versus another dress or simple pantsuit was refreshing and was truly a look to remember.
1. FKA Twigs in Atelier Versace
My jaw dropped the second I saw her. While FKA's carpet looks are still rather new to me, this was a gown that encompassed her aesthetic very well. For people that may not be aware of FKA's musical and person style, they might not understand this look at all. But it is absolutely perfect for her. The big tossed hair with the bright red lip left her looking flawless (as she normally does) on the carpet and might be one of my favorite looks on her to date. I hope FKA continues to wear Atelier Versace looks because I can see her rocking so many pieces from their recent collections.

Honorable Mention
Nicki Minaj in La Bourjoisie
This golden goddess never disappoints on the carpet and I am over the moon with this gold gown. It shows off her incredible figure and the minimal jewelry was smart since the gown is so embellished. The mixture of her casual pin straight hair and blunt bangs keeps this look from being overdone for the VMA's which isn't an award show to arrive glitzed out at.

Hailee Steinfeld in Stella McCartney
You can (almost) never go wrong with a white pantsuit. Hailee has some of my favorite red carpet style and this crisp white pantsuit and metallic accessories are the perfect match. The look is clean and semi-formal for the night's occasion, leaving Hailee looking incredibly sleek.

Lily Aldridge in Alexandre Vauthier
Many different gowns from Alexandre Vauthier recent collections have been worn on the red carpets and they have been on my worst dressed lists (Miley and Taraji P Henson) so I was floored when I fell in love with this simple look. The black gown shows off her figure beautifully and the pairing of the casual hair allows for this simple look to really work on the carpet.

Worst Dressed
Miley Cyrus in Atelier Versace
I mean, it was no shock that she was going to go over the top, but I just find this incredibly trashy. The tall metallic boots and barely there fabric just doesn't compare to the incredibly elegant and beautiful gowns that Miley has worn in the past. And the fake dreadlocks in her hair throw me over the edge for numerous reasons. While I admire her self confidence and rocking body to wear an outfit like this, it's not your best, Miley.
Kylie Jenner in Balmain
I love me some Balmain, but Kylie looks so OLD with this look. The wig and overdone makeup really doesn't work for me because it hides her natural beauty. The color of the dress and the sandals blends in so much with her skin tone that she looks washed out. I am just overly confused by this and I NEVER hate on Balmain.
Emily Ratajkowski in Alturzarra
This is just a hot mess. There is so much going on that I don't even know where to look. This pirate inspired look goes all wrong with the thigh high boots and overly embellished gown. It honestly hurts my eyes.

Hope all is well.
Just love me:
