2016 New York Spring RTW Coverage: Part 1

Givenchy
September 11th, 2015
There is something incredibly sexy about this line. The lingerie like silks and lace that is seen throughout are two things I find incredibly beautiful and sexy. The very monochromatic line is obviously something I love because I don't think you can go wrong with some black and white garments. Givenchy has consistently been one of my favorite designers during fashion week and this sophisticated, sexy line is just another great fashion week show to add to their history.

Christian Siriano

Christian always designers for a very feminine, sophisticated woman. Since his NYFW debut, his collections have never been a disappointment. As a designer that mainly uses a lot of jewel tones, which was seen for the majority of this collection, the pop of color showcased on his pieces at the end of this collection was surprising, but brilliant. The contrast between the finale pieces and the rest of the collection added cohesiveness and showed his versatility in working with a range of colors, fabrics and silhouettes.

The retro vibes I get from this collection made me instantly fall in love. The silhouettes of the garments are the strong points in the collection - there is a great range and they are flirty and fun. From the bell sleeves to the layering of dresses and pants and sweaters and dresses adds a very new and fresh element to this retro influenced collection. There are so many pieces in this collection that could be dressed up or down, making it perfect and wearable for so many people out there.

Monique Lhuillier

It's fun, it's colorful and it's perfect for spring. The floral detailing and contrast of bright spring colors and black allow for this collection to show a range of garments that would cater to a diverse group of people. Monique Lhuillier is known for her beautiful gowns and I am so glad to see her take her sophisticated aesthetic and transform it into ready to wear pieces. She has a way of making everything extremely elegant while still being wearable. The a-line skirts and dresses showcased throughout the collection are my favorite pieces because they are a classic design that so many people would look beautiful in, but the detailing and fabric stays true to her vision.

Hope all is well.
