^ me with Anthony
Today was the Uproar Festival in southern Washington and I went and helped out Circa Survive for the day with my friend Jordan. They are seriously the nicest dudes and so so talented. I have so much respect for Anthony Green and all he does for his family. He is CONSTANTLY flying out to see them back home while Circa Survive is on the road. Today, he flew in and after their set, he was hopping right back on that airplane and heading home to be with his family for two days before doing another show. Not to mention, he has a great fashion sense (LOVE the sea turtle shirt, dude).
It was super hot out today, but with it being the Uproar Festival, I felt the need to dress in black. I picked up this little black dress two weeks ago at Marshall's. I used to never shop there, but they seriously have some amazing clothes are are really affordable! This dress was only $16 and was also what I wore one of the days of Bumbershoot.
As for footwear, I really wanted to break out a pair of boots, but it was too damn hot for those. So I resorted to my VANS that I got back before my freshman year, the purple added a pop of color. I am not big on accessories so I always just throw a belt on with everything I wear to add a little extra something (and mismatched socks always). Especially in festival settings, a good pair of canvas shoes never hurt anyone (or your feet).
And, of course, I gotta have my sunnies. I normally break (or lose) sunglasses within a few months of having them so I got my black pair of Target for $12 and I wear them every day! They are big without completely taking over my face and are super comfortable (and hide my face well when I don't feel like putting on makeup).
I also wore a bright lipstick today that I am slowly falling in love with. It's so hard these days to find a matte lipstick! I hate shimmery lipsticks and lip gloss more than anything, but while I was at Fred Meyer - I can across a line of lipsticks that Wet N' Wild puts out and guess what? They are all matte! Today I wore the 905D Smokin' Hot Pink.
Sunscreen is my biggest thing in the summer. My dad has dealt with skin cancer that keeps coming back for years now so I take my time in the sun very seriously. I lather this stuff on about three or four times a day while I am outside at a festival. Keeping my skin burn free is a MUST. The last terrible sunburn I got was back when I was nine and I swore it would never happen again. Plus, sunscreen helps keep my skin young and pasty, just the way I like it.
