Tune Release Tuesday

No outfit post for you today because I am currently scrubbing in a tshirt and leggings for the day. However, I did want to talk about two albums that are officially released in North America starting today. I have been jamming them constantly.

The 1975's The 1975 - I first heard about these guys early last year and then again when they were playing at the SXSW Festival. My friend Matt put it perfectly by saying that if the musical acts were like stock, he would put all of his money on the 1975. These guys are going to be HUGE, I can feel it. But seriously, this album is killer. Their sound is so fresh and different and far from anything else I have heard of in the alternative genre. They have a song for everything - if you feel like dancing, like crying, anything at all. Their sound has a new sound, but sometimes I feel like I am listening to a pop rock track from the 80's. Its just GOOD music. Its the perfect cross between alternative and techno-pop. Plus, these guys hail from the UK so their music has to be good right? A few of my all time favorite bands are from overseas, these guys being no exception. So if you are tired of listening to the same pop rock crap that is on the radio or being heavily produced to the masses, check out this album.
Tracks to listen to: Settle Down, Talk! and Is There Somebody Who Can Watch You

Tonight Alive's The Other Side - There are few bands out there that I will fully support with everything I have, these guys being one of them. Having had the chance to meet them on countless occasion, these Aussies aren't fucking around. They are ALWAYS touring and this album for them has been a long time coming. I have been a fan of their music for almost two years and became an even bigger fan when I met them. They are the most gracious, sweetest and hardworking people out there. And this album is by far their best release. It can sometimes take me a week or two weeks or even a month to get hooked on an album, but I was hooked when their first single dropped. Tonight Alive is band with substance - their lyrics cater to all crowds and everyone can relate to them one way or another. Hell, I know I sure do. This album shows a lot of maturity since their last album release in 2011. A lot of the songs at that time were about their time in high school, but these guys are growing up with their fans. The subject matter is going farther under the surface and spans an array of topics - its a perfect pop rock album.  If you haven't listened to them before or think they are too much like other girl fronted bands to give them a listen, just do it. They have a sound that works for them and songs that set them a part from bands with similar member lineups. As the world's biggest Paramore fan, I was a skeptic with them too. But then my friend Jordan told me to give them another listen and I have been a fan ever sense. I know the blood, sweat and tears they put into this record and I am so stoked that it is finally out for the world to hear.
Tracks to listen to: Lonely Girl, Hell and Back, The Ocean and Bathwater
