I am just over posting about Bumbershoot, but this is the last of it I promise.

This is my big Bumbershoot post! You won't hear another thing about it after this. I discovered some amazing music this weekend and while I can't talk about every band I saw and photographed (because that would go on for hours), I narrowed down to the top four artists that blew me away as well as compiled some footage from the festival into a video for you all to check out!

^ me photographing !!! (Chk Chk Chk) In the midst of running around in the heat and slurping down free Starbucks every day, I shot a few artists.

Who I spent my weekend with.
During Fun.'s and Death Cab's sets.

1) Death Cab For Cutie's Transatlanticism - This is my favorite album of all time. If you were to ask me the trivial question of what my favorite album is, there is no doubt in my mind that I would say this. Death Cab has been one of my all time favorite bands for as long as I can remember and it was such an honor to get to watch them play this entire album front to back this weekend. Transatlanticism is short and sweet, but every song means so much to me. "Passenger Seat" is the track on the album that hits me hard every time for many different reasons and there was something so fulfilling about hearing it live. In the midst of my tears and crying on my friend's shoulder, standing there and listening to Ben play the song on piano in front of ten thousand people was one of the best musical moments I have had the opportunity of experiencing. The whole show gave me a brand new appreciation for this album and for Death Cab. If you aren't a Death Cab fan by now, I don't know what you have been doing with your life.

2) fun.'s Some Nights - Again, this is not a new music discovery for me, but it is really important. I first caught wind of fun. in about 2009 and finally saw them live in 2010 (??) I believe. The lead singer is formally the vocalist of The Format, another favorite, and fun. is a band that I hold deeply in my heart. Seeing these guys rise from the beginning to where they are now is incredible and after seeing them this weekend, I am back listening to Some Nights on repeat. Although three or four of the songs off this album have become the most overplayed tunes on the radio these days, "Why Am I The One" is a track I urge everyone to listen to. Getting to watch them perform it live (for the second time) was incredible and they are certainly a band that knows how to put on a show. I swear to god, these kids never stop touring. Although they may be mainstream now, they are still one of the hardest working bands out there and I will always defend them (even though everyone around me seems to dislike them). Underneath the radio hype and overplayed songs is an album that has so much substance and meaning - the songwriting is something I have never heard from a pop album before.

3) The Mowgli's Waiting For The Dawn - I have been a fan of them for quite some time, but seeing them live just solidified it all for me. I first heard about them from Cam Adler who is in the band Tonight Alive and their fun folk music supplies the perfect tunes for any time of the year. "San Francisco" is the track I have been jamming the most lately. If you are looking for a breath of fresh air from the folk genre, definitely give these guys a listening to.

4) Allen Stone's Allen Stone - What a perfect human being. Probably six or seven months ago, my sister came into my room and told me that I had to listen to this guy. So I did and honestly, I didn't really get into it at first. In fact, until I saw him this weekend, I had basically forgotten about him. But he put on the perfect show - one of the best ways to close my stressful and tiring weekend. If you are looking for a folk man that holds nothing but soul in his music, Allen Stone is the guy for you. His track "Celebrate Tonight" will forever remind me of my weekend at Bumbershoot. Standing back and watching everyone dance along and enjoy his set was so peaceful and just goes to show how music is universal language that everyone speaks.
So I went ahead and made a little 8track playlist of some Bumbershoot jams. Listen to it ------> here.

I also threw together a little video of some of the acts I saw and photographed this weekend. But Blogger really doesn't want to upload it so you can watch it ------> here.

Expect an outfit post tomorrow! I will get back into clothing posts, I promise! And I will be making a post about the bleaching and toning process I do to the blonde side of my hair this week too!
